Steven W. Gainey, age 67 passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on February 6th, 2023. He was born March 29th, 1955. He is survived by his loving twin-sister Colleen J. Chase and her four sons Jeremy Rich, Casey Rich, Corey Chase, and Mickey Chase and nine great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Bill Gainey, his sister Judy Norton. He was a psychologist with EAC a program of Cherry Health by profession, and a healer by vocation. Steve believed that life was about welcoming. Welcoming the day with a prayer, welcoming breath with meditation, welcoming loved ones with a warm embrace. His hospitality was boundless and will be his legacy. He was always present whether it was sitting in his beloved garden sharing a favorite dinner recipe or lounging in his parlor, the moments were woven together by the resonant chortle of his unforgettable laugh. His was a life lived fully, traveling both outwardly and inwardly, living in the moment while always seeking new discoveries. Now he takes one more ferry ride across the river, may he return soon.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023 at 2:00pm at Fountain Street Church.

Any flower deliveries are requested to be delivered to the church on Friday before 4pm.
