Obituary for Ronald Darner
Ronald Joel Darner, age 80, of Portage, Michigan, passed away at Bronson Methodist Hospital on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Ron was born on January 4, 1942, to Lloyd and Georgina Darner. Ron and his family moved around a lot before they settled in Kalamazoo. Up to meeting Char he worked odd jobs, he met Char at Portage Central Highschool. He loved Bowling, playing pool and playing cards.
Ron and Charlene King were married on February 10, 1967, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Together, they had three children, Tammy, Jeffrey, and Ronda. He worked at Family Foods as a manager for 27 years, then worked at Builder square before retirement.
In his later years after retirement, he loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He loved going to movies, gardening, and sitting on the porch with a cold glass of lemonade.
Ron was predeceased by his mother and father, brother Lloyd, and sisters Gloria, Joyce, and Elizabeth, and grandson Tyler Titus. He is survived by his wife Char, brothers Richard (Linda) and Larry (Karen), sisters Roberta and Patricia, his children Tammy (Jeffrey Miller), Jeffrey (Janice), and Ronda (Chris Wakild), and his grandchildren Jeffrey and Tanya (Patrick Murphy).
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at Pathfinder Church on Saturday, October 1 at 11:00 A.M.
