Mr. Jack A Dinkel, age 74, of Comstock Park, MI, passed away Monday, December 5th, 2022. Jack was born September 13th, 1948 to Christian George "Bud" and Loretta (Vogel) Dinkel. Growing up at Mill Creek Farm on 8 Mile Road, he had a happy childhood surrounded by peaches, strawberries, and their dairy cows. In high school he was voted by his classmates "Mr. Congeniality", a testament to his good nature and kind heartedness. On September 20th, 1980, in Sparta, Michigan, he married Ferol Preston. Jack worked in the auto industry for General Motors at the Alpine and 36th Street locations. Jack was an avid reader and enjoyed reading Dean Koontz books. He also enjoyed spending time on Little Pine Island Lake out with Ferol on their pontoon boat fishing and relaxing, as well as providing firework displays every 4th of July to the delight of his children and their friends. He and Ferol enjoyed attending the Indy 500 race annually for 52 years. They especially enjoyed the community of friends they met through racing. In retirement they traveled in their motorhome to many relaxing locations where they made many great new memories. Jack is survived by his wife Ferol, his children Mandy (Jon) Pullen of Shropshire, England, and Jaci (Sam) Roeble of Cedar-Rock, MI; four grandchildren, Joshua, Max, George and Marie; his two sisters, Nancy Beggin of Kaneohe, HI, and Joy Strasser of Marquette, MI; Sisters and Brother in law, Helen (John) Beacher of San Jose, CA, Mary (Marty) Toczydlowski of Sparta, MI, and Frank (Dawn) Preston of Sparta, MI, several nieces and nephews. Jack is also survived by his cat, Buster. Jack's wishes were for no funeral; a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
